A brief history of "the Aquarius."

The building was originally built to house the Academic Gymnastics Association (ATV).

Having insufficient resources, the association relied on the hospitality of other clubs before constructing their own facility on Na Grobli Street in 1921, according to Helbig's design. A two-story, partly wooden, rectangular building was a rather simple architectural form. The building featured designated club rooms and a boat hangar. In 1926 a new modernist style seat was built according to the design of Brix and Moshamer. The facades of the building received a red clinker brick characteristic of that day, introducing a simplistic form of decoration - the brick cornices.

In 1949, a rowing section was formed by Kazimierz Krupiński as part of the Stal Sports Association, which, after further mergers and changes, eventually became the Dolmel Sports Club. The club was granted for its seat the building of the former German Gymnastics Association (ATV) at today's 28 Na Grobli Street.

The club evolved as follows: Stal Sports Club from 1948 to 1956, Olimpia Sports Club from 1957 to 1960, Workers' Sports Club M5 from 1960 to 1965, Piast M5 Wroclaw for several months in 1965 and KS Dolmel from 1965. The rowing section continued to operate from 1949, however, until the beginning of the '70s this activity was interrupted. The section was dissolved in 1988.
